CONTRIBUTION OF ELECTRONICS TECHNOLOGY IN SMART CITY DEVELOPMENT: PERSPECTIVE OF ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING EDUCATION

Smart city is a concept of sustainable urban development that utilizes information and communication technology to improve people's quality of life. Electronics technology plays a central role in the implementation of smart cities through various systems such as the Internet of Things (IoT), sensor networks, and automation systems. This research uses the literature review method to analyze the contribution of electronics technology in smart city development from the perspective of electronics engineering education. The review results show that electronics technology contributes to the five main domains of smart city: smart governance, smart mobility, smart environment, smart energy, and smart living. Implications for electronic engineering education include the need for an adaptive curriculum, integrated laboratories, and industry partnerships to prepare a competent workforce in the smart city field.
